													When Quick Fixes Aren’t Enough:
Why Consistency Needs Accountability
Quick resets and simple wins are brilliant. They can lift the weight of overwhelm, help you breathe again, and give you a fresh start. But here’s the truth: sometimes the hardest part isn’t starting, it’s keeping it going.
As mums running businesses, our weeks are rarely the same twice. Kids get sick, clients need something urgently, life throws curveballs. And that’s why consistency is so tricky – you can’t just set a routine once and expect it to stick forever.
Quick fixes help you start
Small resets – a brain dump, a tidy desk, a weekly plan (all of which I’m a HUGE fan of) are a powerful way to get moving. They give you momentum and remind you that change is possible.
Consistency needs support
The challenge comes after the first week or two. That’s when old habits creep back in, or life gets in the way. This is where accountability matters.
I know, because I’ve felt it myself. I’m part of a membership that gives me accountability and encouragement to keep showing up for the business I want to build. Without that extra nudge, it would be so much easier to slip back into old patterns.
Tips to stay consistent with your resets
Here are a few simple ways to make consistency easier, even on the busiest weeks:
- Pair it with something you already do.
Habit stacking is powerful. For example, tidy your desk before you close your laptop, or do a brain dump while the kids are brushing their teeth at night.
- Make it visible.
Keep your planner open on your desk, set a reminder on your phone, or use a sticky note on the fridge. Visual cues keep the habit front of mind.
- Keep it small.
A reset doesn’t need to take an hour. A 5-minute tidy, one quick win, or a short reflection is still progress, and far easier to stick with.
- Share it with someone.
Whether it’s a friend, a fellow business mum, or a coach, telling someone else your reset goal adds a layer of accountability.
Quick fixes are brilliant for momentum, but consistency often needs support. That’s why I offer two levels of help:
- Sort Your Week Out Mini Audit — for quick, personalised resets to get you moving.
- Reset Together (1:1) — for consistent accountability and personalised support to help you build rhythms that actually last.
Because resets aren’t just about starting fresh, they’re about building a business and a life that can flex when things get tough.
